Adventure Awaits!

Many of you that know us, know that there are several vital things in the Kelly family. A sense of humor, a love for music and most importantly a passion for reading. In our house that may be a vast understatement. In a normal day in a life scenario reading is a treasured time . In the pandemic stay at home order situation we find ourselves in now, reading is sanity. It is an escape and it is joy. We are always on the look out for good book recommendations. Since we have logged a lot of reading hours, I thought we would share our recommendations. Since we are all readers in this house, we are going to include kids through adult. At the very least this will be a way to keep track of our favorites and hopefully contribute to yours as well! Stay safe friends!

Sydney’s Recommendation

This was a could not put down for Sydney, in fact she quickly finished and requested the next books in the series. It is a graphic novel about a girl and her brother's adventure after losing their dad.

Abbie's Recommendation:

This is a laugh out loud classic that is really fun for the whole family. The story of Peter, his family, his nemesis Shelia, his hilarious bother all centered in NYC life. I would highly recommend this as a read out loud too!

Elizabeth’s Recommendation:
Elizabeth was looking to fill the void of missing Harry Potter. She quickly found it in the Percy Jackson series. Full of adventure and Greek mythology. A can’t book down, hide under your blanket reading with a flashlight story!

A Family Recommendation for read out loud:

A retelling of the classic fairy tale Snow White and Rose Red. We were hooked from the very beginning. An idyllic childhood that transitions to struggle and finding out who you are. A beautifully told story that will leave you unable to put it down!

Megan’s Recommendation:
I read this book several years ago. It was on one of those 20 books you won’t be able to
put down lists. It certainly lived up to its spot on the list for me. It was an amazing story about tragedy, friendship and the ability to heal with a mystery thrown in.
